Up Close and Personal with FemiLift

It’s been a while since I wrote a blog as I was so busy moving but I’m happy to be back with you lovely people and share an experience that has (seriously) changed my life.

I have had my eyes on the FemiLift treatment for months and read a lot about it. I meant to have it done once I am back in London but with some good research I found an amazing aesthetic clinic in Lisbon and gave it a go for my first session.

After only one session I feel I got my confidence back and am looking forward to my next appointment.

What is FemiLift ?

Now I know what you’re thinking… a vaginal laser treatment that works for women who suffer from bladder leaks, vaginal dryness due to hormonal changes, recurrent infections, loss of elasticity and vaginal laxity (feeling less sensation during intercourse, libido loss) sounds like a terrifying but somewhat intriguing experience, right? It helps alleviate these symptoms whether they were caused by menopause, hormone deficiency related to cancer therapy or post-labor conditions. For myself I decided to do this treatment due to hormonal and peri-menopausal symptoms such as dryness and vaginal laxity. It had bothered me for a while and I believe that if something affects your lifestyle, it’s worth taking care of it. Unfortunately so many of us suffer from hormonal symptoms in our 40s and 50s that are supposed to be our blooming years. Women still feel shy to talk about issues like this. I believe that a healthy sex life and taking care of your intimate parts is a form of self-care that is just as important (if not more important!) as buying good skin care and hair masks.

First treatment

First of all I’d like to point out that I had done some research in London and everywhere I asked they reassured me it would be 100% pain free. This is NOT true ! I am always so surprised how so many treatments are advertised to patients as being pain free and it’s not the case. So let me tell you the truth, I didn’t find FemiLift pain-free. There is no downtime and the treatment itself only takes 15-mins. A laser tube is inserted in your vagina (that’s the easy part, of course), then the doctor needs to do three laser sessions by pulling it out slowly while the laser is working, it’s magic. It’s a really strong burning sensation, especially when the laser reaches towards the end. My doctor was amazing and let me manage my pain level so every time I needed a break she would stop and then restart. That helped a lot. Once the treatment was finished I only had a bit of discomfort for an hour after and you may have discharge they say (which I didn’t have). I felt totally fine and did not have any side effects. Sex is not recommended for about four days afterwards. Sorry hubby! Some prescribe 48 hours without intercourse but my doctor told me it’s better to let it recover.

FemiLift is not a cheap treatment but my vagina is worth the price and it makes me happier than a new handbag.

I’ll be back next month !

It is recommended that you should have three sessions of FemiLift over three months and then can be done as a top up once or twice a year. Let me tell you, pain or not, I’m back in Lisbon next month. After only one session I saw amazing results and I feel alive again in that area getting all my sensations back. My libido is back baby and I’m feeling the muscles work much better. I also realised that dryness has improved and orgasms feel like 100 times more intense (hallejuljah) !

After only one session I feel I got my confidence back and am looking forward to my next appointment.

Often we think that it’s unavoidable: nature will inevitably take its toll on us as we grow older, so we just have to accept it. How many times do I hear women say “well I’m 50, it’s kind of over”. If things work less well because of physical issues, we become less confident and then often find ourselves in a vicious circle. Let me tell you, nothing is over. Jane Fonda said she had the best sex in her 70s. FemiLift is not a cheap treatment but my vagina is worth the price and it makes me happier than a new handbag.

I’m sure I’m not the only one out there so feel free to contact me ladies if you have any questions, no taboos with me and we can chat via email or DM.
